Image Data Loading

In P3D image data are used for two different purposes:

  1. For the derivation of virtual reality objects by segmentation processes (Input images).
  2. For the coloring of the objects (Texture images). When using texturing for surface rendering (SR) objects the color at a surface point is derived from the color at the same point in the texture images. When using textures for volume rendering (VR) objects the color is derived by a weighted addition of the texture colors during ray tracing.

The images can be loaded from the Menu with Load Input, from the DB Load page or using the button the taskbar to the right.

Note that several images can be loaded at once. It is also possible to incrementally load additional images later on. To do so, the append pushpin Pushpin below the button should be activated to enter the append mode Pushpin-in. The format of the loaded images can be changed with the small button.
